Close, move, and identify
Preparation starts with securing openings and clearing anything that does not need to be in the work area.
- Close and secure doors and windows
- Move vehicles beyond the likely spray and runoff area
- Remove furniture, rugs, toys, planters, hoses, and decorations
- Keep children and pets away from the work area
Point out conditions that may not be obvious
A photo or quick note about a known problem can change how an area is handled. Identify leaks, loose siding, damaged seals, cracked or patched concrete, coatings, fresh paint, exterior outlets, and fragile fixtures.
Cleaning will not repair damage, reverse fading, or remove every absorbed stain. Point those areas out before the job so everyone starts with the same expectations.
Plan for drying and access afterward
Shade, weather, drainage, and surface type affect drying time. Keep people, pets, furniture, and vehicles clear until the cleaned areas are safe and sufficiently dry.
